Capacity-building and collaborative curriculum development: A transition from BPharm to PharmD degree at Nnamdi Azikiwe university in Nigeria

Introduction: The Nnamdi Azikiwe University (NAU) started its Bachelor of Pharmacy (BPharm) programme in the 2006-2007 academic year. However, NAU’s BPharm curriculum was not clinically focused, and NAU lacked expertise implementing clinical pharmacy focus a Doctor (PharmD) programme. set out to transition from new PharmD curriculum. Purpose: purpose this article is describe capacity-building collaborative development at NAU. In consultation collaboration with an expert Carnegie African Diaspora. Description: During six-week visit, collaborators co-designed model didactic experiential curriculum, harmonised course syllabi content, revised Clinical Clerkship Logbook. Conclusion: Faculty Pharmaceutical Sciences applied for obtained approval degree as graduate degree. National Commission approved
